In the 90s, Nada Surf was one of the icons of college rock. Anyone who has dealt with this type of music can sing along with the song „Popular“ from the debut „High / Low“. Today with over 25 years of band history under their belt, they are still Matthew Caws on guitar, Daniel Lorca on bass and Ira Elliot on drums. In contrast to many other 90s Zeitgeist bands, the New Yorkers survived the turn of the millennium – and made a successful transition from college rock to something of the most exciting and beautiful that American indie rock has to offer today. Nada surfs have certainly grown older, but they still have energy and this little ability which distinguishes her from so many other bands: when the chorus begins in her songs, there is always that extra portion of warmth, that little bit of tenderness that never falls by the wayside with all the musical storm and urge of this band. And they are still the best live anyway: On April 8th they play Nada Surf at Dynamo Zurich and by then they have a new album in their luggage.
