Pentatonix

When the quintet Pentatonix started in September 2011 to take part in the third season of the US talent show „The Sing-Off“, nobody knew what they would be able to do. A good two months later, after they had been chosen as the winner, it was clear: This band, which works solely with the voice and no instruments, has catapulted one of the purest and most soulful expressions of pop music into an exciting future, the possibilities of which are unlimited seem to be. In a very short time, Pentatonix have created their very own and highly contagious sound and style by combining the catchiest pop songs of every streak with complex, new arrangements. Pentatonix are the singers Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado, Mitch Grassi, Avi Kaplan and Beatboxer Kevin „KO“ Olusola. After the success of „The Sing-Off“ all band members moved to Los Angeles, where they worked tirelessly on new material and created their own Youtube channel with versions of songs like „Somebody That I Used To Know“ (Gotye), „Hallelujah“ (Leonard Cohen) or very recently „Can You Feel the Love Tonight? “ (Elton John) fed, which led to over 17 million fans now subscribing to the channel and their videos totaling more than 4 billion clicks. Their new Christmas album „The Best Of Pentatonix Christmas“ will be released on October 25th, which they will surely have with them on their world tour.
